Start Your Own Flock

Hatching your own ducklings is one of the most rewarding ways to build a flock. Our fertilized Khaki Campbell, Pekin, and White Muscovy eggs give you a front-row seat to the whole journey, from the first pip to a fuzzy duckling exploring the brooder. Each breed has its own strengths, so whether you're dreaming of a full egg basket, a freezer of tender duck, or a peaceful backyard flock, there's an egg here to match.

Three Breeds to Hatch

Khaki Campbells are the egg-laying champions, with hens producing 165 to 300 eggs a year. They grow into slim, athletic birds of 3.5 to 5 pounds. Pekins are the most popular meat duck around, reaching 7 to 11 pounds with tender, mild meat, and the hens lay 125 to 225 eggs a year. White Muscovies grow into big, sturdy birds, with drakes reaching 10 to 15 pounds, and their meat is lean and premium. Muscovy hens are also excellent mothers, which makes them a great way to keep a flock going for years.

What to Expect From Your Ducklings

Ducklings you hatch yourself often turn out wonderfully tame. Khaki Campbells grow into curious, active foragers that keep the yard free of bugs. Pekins are friendly and docile, with a chatty streak around feeding time. Muscovies are calm and quiet, communicating with soft coos and hisses. All three are a great fit for families, first-time duck keepers, and mixed flocks.

In 2007, a few ducks in the Shirk family’s backyard sparked a passion that soon grew beyond our fence line. Today, Shirlock Acres ships ducklings across the country, but our heart is still rooted in family care. Roger and Derek Shirk continue to raise every bird with the same honesty and attention they’ve always given their own. Curious how it all began? You’ll find the full story on our About Us page.
