Duck Starter Feed is a specially formulated ration for young ducks, designed to support fast early growth, immune health, and feather strength during the critical 3–4 week starter phase. Use it as the sole feed, keeping it fresh and available at all times so your ducklings can eat whenever they need.
It’s the exact feed we use for our own breeding flock, so you’re getting the same reliable, breeder‑proven nutrition we trust on our farm from hatch through early development.
Start Them Right
Give your ducklings the start they deserve. Our Duck Starter Feed is explicitly formulated for ducks—balanced protein, vitamins, and essential nutrients for steady growth, feather health, and strong immunity from day one. It’s the exact feed we use for our own Shirlock Acres breeding flock, so you’re getting the same trusted quality we rely on every day.

Duck Starter Feed FAQs
Feed Duck Starter Feed as the sole ration from day one until your ducklings are about 3–4 weeks old. After that, you can gradually transition them onto Duck Grower Feed over 5–7 days by mixing the two feeds.
Intake varies by breed and age, but as a rough guide, a small group of ducklings can easily go through several pounds a week. It’s best to keep feed in front of them at all times and monitor how quickly they empty the feeder so you can size your order accordingly.
Store the feed in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. For best results, keep it in a sealed container to protect from pests and to keep it fresh.
If you are feeding only crumbled feed and water, ducklings generally don’t need additional grit. If you introduce treats, greens, or other foods, offer an appropriate size of poultry grit so they can digest those extras properly.
You can mix leftover Starter Feed with Duck Grower Feed for a week or two to use it up, or offer it as a small part of your adult ducks’ ration. Just make sure the majority of their long‑term diet is an age‑appropriate feed (Grower or Maintenance).
